JD Ekowa was slinging darts on deep routes, not so accurate on shorter tosses. Augustana leads the nation in rushing defense and I thought the Mavs would run for over 100 yards at least. 57 yards was MSU total. Kyle Saddler has only been sacked once this season against WSC. Saddler played like a Sr. QB. should today with awareness and leadership, he has played well most of this season. Head Coach Jerry Olszewski was somewhat emotional on the radio interview after winning against a school he coached 7 years at. We all know the Mavs will re-group and be tough as nails again soon. Wish I could have been there as I'm 90% certain I was at the Blake in 2003 for AU last win there.

Not so fast my friend! Augie controls their own destiny. How many NSIC teams will make the playoffs? I'm guessing two. If I copied the schedule right here are the top eight teams and I don't expect a three loss team to make the playoffs- not sure what the pecking order for the MWB in case of ties.

Augustana: 7-1 WSU, at UMD, SMSU
Bemidji St: 6-2 SMSU, at NSU, Mary
Minn. Duluth: 6-2 at Minot, AU, NSU
Northern St: 6-2 at Moorhead, BSU, at UMD
Wayne St: 6-2 at UIU, USF, at Moorhead
Minn. St: 5-3 USF, at SMSU, at WSU
Winona St: 5-3 at AU, UIU, MSU
Sioux Falls: 5-3 at MSU, at Wayne, UIU[/QUOTE]

Gonna be fun to see it all shake out

MSU should be at a place where they never care about the Mineral Water Bowl.

The last time that they went wasn't it a close vote by the team if they were going to go?

I was looking at the MWB appearances.

I thought that was Duluth that did that, but you could be correct.

That could be too. I had heard in 2011 that some of the Mav players didn't want to go. Fortunately they did, they won, and had their first unbeaten regular season and hosted the semifinal the next year.

Looks like week10 will be a big shakedown on playoff implications. Augustana may control their own destiny, but have competitive games the next two weeks.

No team should be above the MWB. Remembering when Notre Dame turned down a minor bowl game, if my memory is correct they didn't go bowling for awhile after that. Didn't break my heart.

I would hope that they would. They are young and it is a great opportunity for more practices. With the bubble you won't have to deal with the weather if you don't want to. i just think that other teams might finish above them that would be eligible.

Was an absolute maddening game to watch. Both teams have talent but neither played all that well today. From a WSU perspective, the defense finally showed a little toughness for an entire game. The big play for the late TD was awesome. All around it was just good to get the Warriors back in the win column.
