The offensive depth of the North was crazy this year. Dewaylon Ingram had one of the best offensive seasons ever at NSU and was second team with just the 7 North teams! Hunter Trautman had one of the best QB season ever at NSU (and led the conference in total offense) and wasn't selected at all, again among just the 7 North teams! And WR Dakota Larson is one of the most talented players I've ever seen at Northern and was not selected. And I can't even complain about any of these too much because the players that were selected were also awesome this year.

On the flip side, I complained about how poor the NSU defense was all season and there were 3 players selected to the all conference teams. All 3 were probably deserving as they did put good individual numbers.

Considering that Logan Swanson is the best DT in the NSIC....I was shocked he didn't make first team considering how he disrupts things and how good their D was against the run....but it looked like the coaches kinda went the way of the stat grab, which will always favor end rushers for sacks and TFL's etc etc.

As you stated, the North had crazy offensive numbers....I think I would've favored Ingram but look at the wideouts on the second team....equal in talent/athleticism level or maybe more than the first. It's wild.

Thought WSC might have more South Division first teamers.....but it's a tough group to crack.

Was thinking the same thing, Swanson should be there. Do you know the criteria? His numbers may not be flashy, but still pretty good considering coaches were game planning for him and double teaming all season. I would think opposing coaches would rank him highest threat on the DL.

Obviously the position you play makes a difference and the QB always gets the awards when in doubt. For signing late and not even arriving to camp on time, I don't think there was a bigger impact newcomer across the conference on offense.

Exactly. I've actually had head coaches reach out to me today after I tweeted something....totally agreeing.

Surprised that Slezer for MSU got 2nd team. He was hurt so much of the year. 506 yards rushing and 5 TDs.

It was the year of the quarterbacks/receivers.

Teams with most players represented. UMD 15, AU 13 and BSU 11 + 2 coaches. Has Witt stated being on lists seem to be stat driven.

No Honorable Mentions or 2nd team Specialist this year. how are the players selected, are they nominated by coaches and voted on by coaches?

Noticed a player from every team made the list. Wonder if the head coaches actually fill out the ballots or a grad. asst.

That made me very happy. With the North/South spilt, having honorable mention as well basically gives each player some type of accolade. Which completely defeats the intended purpose.

Unfortunately, that is precisely the purpose...
