I haven't heard a clear reason, but did hear that the league announcement is expected to come next week. They are waiting for something on the NCAA end, apparently.

SCSU is one of the worst run government insitutions in Minnesota which is saying something. Completely imploded and blew up and have fallen so farOriginally posted by vikingfaithful View Post
Well at least Jims's play football, SCSU and UCM drop football and keep their conference credentials. SCSU bugs me the most, they're 3rd or 4th largest school in conference and should play hockey in CCHA. What should have happened is CONTRACTION!!!

Not surprising given it's in St. Cloud. That entire county needs to be sold to South Dakota.Originally posted by MrMustang View Post

Agreed, they need to be gone, it would be putting Crookston out of their misery and killing athletics at St. Cloud which could be the death nail or a saving grace for the school to not stay open exclusively for Hockey.Originally posted by vikingfaithful View Post

Also agree that Cloud and Duluth should be brought back into the fold with the rest of the conference teams, if that means another school or 3 add D1 hockey and having the league leadership enact the rule that if there is enough squads for an auto bid the NSIC must play together.Mavs > Everyone

I thought that must be the case, something is holding them up with the transition. Maybe the NSIC will do the majority of this threads dirty work and deny them D2 access lolOriginally posted by Stanger86 View PostI haven't heard a clear reason, but did hear that the league announcement is expected to come next week. Careful what you wish for. If the NSIC formed a hockey league, it would not have a seat at the D-I rules/regulations meetings as they do not have a full D-I member. At least the CCHA has Bowling Green, which at least gets them into the room for talks, not that it means much outside of the Power Conferences.Originally posted by zimmy21 View Post

Not sure how not having a full D-I member in the league would affect the time frame for the auto bid as well. I would guess there would be a probationary period, which without a D-I member may make it harder to limit or wave.Millsy

That's fine and dandy but again there is nothing forcing Bowling Green to vote in the D2 schools favor at this point anyway. Is Bowling Green's vote going to be meaningful if the other conferences decided to vote against D2 schools best interests? I just don't get the fear here.Originally posted by Millsy View Post

Bowling Green will vote in the best interest of the conference. They represent the conference. Without them, it's a bit of a crap shoot.Originally posted by zimmy21 View Post

Says who? I know they are holding all of our hopes and dreams in their D1 hands. But, what's supposed to stop them from voting in their favor and not the small schools? Also, again what is one vote, supposedly representing the other 7 of us, is going to do against the other conferences that are majority D1 or exclusively D1?Originally posted by njmav1 View Post
