I went to MSU's spring scrimmage against NSU in Tea, SD. No concessions, so I left at the half to have me a footlong down at the B&G Milkyway - a Sioux Falls staple(?). Made it back to see the fourth.

When I buy a Fosters Freeze franchise I'll set you up with free food for life and some swag. :)

Hell, we can't even get a Kwik Trip into town. They bought a lot, tore the building down on it (I think), got the city permits, and now decided the lot won't work (it butts up against swampland that is near impossible to touch). But hey, we do have four Subways, three Holidays and three Casey's and two Dairy Queens. And we had two El Loros, but they shut one of them down.
Applebee's!? Yeesh - that's a first. I'd have thought Alex would have about 6 Kwik Trips by now. Marshall has two of them already. I'm in Sioux Falls enough that I don't need much - they have Popeye's, and Pizza Hut to complete the holy trifecta, so I'm good.

The Brookings Applebee's shut down recently. It won't be missed. Pretty much the only folks that ate there were out of towners staying at nearby hotels.

Growing up in Sioux Falls, B&G Milky Way, was our neighborhood staple, we'd go there after baseball games in nearby Sherman Park in the mid to late 1960's. B&G has been around on West 12st since 1954. Still locally owned with several locations. Great footlongs and soft serve.

It should be an NSIC requirement to have a Kwik Trip- or a Kwik Stop or whatever they legally have to call them in Iowa. Their chicken pot pies are absolutely delicious. And of course I buy my milk and bananas there.

            • In California the two big convenient stores are 7/11 and Circle K. Since 7/11 is worldwide and humongous I'll go to Circle K whenever possible. Although they are growing throughout the Southwest. But I avoid the food they "nuke" at either franchise. The hot dogs look like a high school science experiment gone bad. Real bad.

The one in Tea was fantastic - I'd like to check out the original one. Maybe next time I'm in town. I never really hear anyone talk about them, but the experience I had was excellent. Just wish I had more time to try more things!

                        • Jamestown doesn't have any OOC games on their 2025 schedule, so it's 10 conference games this season. Most of you probably expect them to go 0-10 and I understand that. But I'm predicting a 2 win season. I can't tell you who'll they beat, it's just a gut feeling. Go Jimmies! Look out, I'm driving the bandwagon baby!

She doesn't seem like the type to hang around pool halls or gas stations haha. But I don't know her personally.
