man Quiznos is good food !Originally posted by SW_Mustang View PostI go to Culvers when I want a burger with McDonald's flavor but also have the need to spend twice the money. I used to get a discount there in college through my employer - and it was right next door. I went 2 or 3 times.
Jamestown does have a Quiznos. That explains a lot about all of this. Remember those awful mascots they had?

Where will you go after the merger completes and they are the same company?? 🙂Originally posted by crixus View PostIn California the two big convenient stores are 7/11 and Circle K. Since 7/11 is worldwide and humongous I'll go to Circle K whenever possible. Although they are growing throughout the Southwest. But I avoid the food they "nuke" at either franchise. The hot dogs look like a high school science experiment gone bad. Real bad.

I remember when they came out with the Big Gulp, somewhere around 1980. It seemed humongous. Everyone was like, "who could drink 32oz of soda?"Originally posted by Purple Mav Man View PostLooks like a formal place…
Can you get a Big Gulp there??
Now that's the medium size drink at many places.

My pal at Antarctic Mart hooked me up with a six pack of Dr. Pepper Zero and a bag of mini pretzels. So I'm good. As far as a 7/11 item at Antarctic Mart goes...you're penguin poop out of luck my friend. LOLOriginally posted by Purple Mav Man View Post

Quiznos filed for bankruptcy several years ago and closed some of their locations. I'm glad the one in Jamestown made the cut so you boys can eat when you go see your teams lose to my Jimmies.Originally posted by SW_Mustang View Post
It's been a long time since I had it - I remember liking it, just didn't realize they were still around. Would love to try it again.

I always get a kick out of these people! They all want more stuff, but they have no clue what it takes or what is required. I’ve seen it in many communities. Alexandria doesn’t have the demographics to support a lot of the “wants” people demand.Originally posted by Millsy View Post
Someone needs to pony up the cash and buy into the franchise!!! Who wouldn't want to get a Frosty in Burrrrrrmidji?
"To open a Wendy's franchise, prospective owners need a minimum net worth of $1,000,000 and liquid assets of at least $500,000. The initial investment ranges from $2,000,000 to $3,500,000, including a $40,000 franchise fee."
I always get a kick out of some of the Facebook posts about Alexandria needing this, that and whatever restaurant. What these locals don't realize is that a lot of these franchises have population requirements and the franchisee also has to have a lot of skin in the game. I believe it was Texas Roadhouse that came up just a couple of weeks ago.
The initial investment for a Texas Roadhouse franchise can range from $3.89 million to $7.9 million. This includes the franchise fee, real estate, construction, equipment, and initial inventory. You'll also need to factor in ongoing fees, such as royalties and advertising fees. Texas Roadhouse also has population requirements in the 40,000-60,000 range (Alexandria's micropolitan population size is a little over 40,000, I believe).
One of my favorites are when people make it seem like theses cities and towns have a catalog of places to choose from and they picked “another Mexican restaurant” or another bank, gas station, etc…these companies have see the potential and ability to support their business.
people are nuts
