Seeing all this food talk makes me think we need to get a thread going of restaurants in our beloved NSIC towns. I will start one tonight. A little over a month until the season starts!!!

Yes yes - Sioux Falls does have great options. I'm not there as much as I used to be, but I still try to get out and eat the local faire every so often.Originally posted by Otis Day View Post
IHere, here! If you can't find gourmet food in Sioux Falls, you're doing it wrong.
I really want to try that pizza place over by USF, Sunny's, I think? Simon's is my go-too for tacos. Couple places down town I have yet to try as well.

These threads seem to have an Olympic rotation and get updated/redone every 2-4 years. Makes for a good August evening read.Originally posted by Millsy View Post2021 Food Guide:

Sioux Falls is in southern South Dakota - not eastern! Big difference.Originally posted by vikingfaithful View Post
There plenty of great dining options in eastern SD, you're too cheap to visit them!
SF has solid options - I love a Vietnamese Fried Chicken Sammich down at the Bread-and-Circus. Simon's is the only place I trust so far with my birria order, and a donut from Flyboy will keep me full all day. It's been a while since I've tried something new - probably when Big Poppa's set me up with a cheese wheel of a pizza that kept me fed for a week. I need to try Looks, and the Pizza Place next to USF (Sunny's, I think?) among many others.
North of there it's slim pickings - mostly bar food which I personally get tired of quickly. A plate of Filipino food in Flandreau might be South Dakota's best kept secret - though it's not available year round. Had a serving on Saturday and none of that went to waste. Brookings has an Indian place I still need to try.
Used to have an office in Watertown and they get a special shout out for the Godfather's in the mall up there. Godfather's is the pinnacle of chain pizza - and the crew in Watertown somehow managed to stand out among all the excellence. Hope those folks are doing well.

Love the food threads. There was a suggestion a couple years back to put together a comprehensive NSIC fan guide. Tickets, parking, lodging, food, other weekend attractions, etc. That would be a cool thread idea too.Originally posted by Purple Mav Man View Post

Like your new avatar, AD Hieb will need many Olde English malt liquor bottles for the Augustana game to keep his sanity. My offer for chocolate milks at KO still stands.Originally posted by oldyellaHer69 View PostIn honor of our AD Hieb who can slam a 40 of OE like no other, we are 40 days from running over the Vikings!

Posted this in the Food Thread, but will post here as well.
Well, we hit Jamestown for lunch yesterday. Went to Johnny Bs downtown. My wife and I each ordered a personal pizza. It was wood fired and had a good crust, and the dough was made in house, I believe. Could have been cooked a little longer in my opinion. Our son had a double smashed cheeseburger, which had really great flavor. And, there was nothing smashed about it, those patties were still thick. If we would have known that smashed didn't mean smashed, we wouldn't have let him upgrade to the double. Lol!
They had a very large selection of beers on tap! I am not a beer drinker, but if you are, this would be a great place to stop. Also had a full bar. The building itself was cool, old bricks and an industrial ceiling.
Sorry, didn't want to hit Paradiso, as I figured we still had 2.5 hiurs to Minot and I didn't want one of their infamous Margaritas in my system.
And, just an FYI, Interstate driving in North Dakota bumps up to 80 MPH today. But, from what I have heard, the cops are no longer giving the 5 MPH leeway. Two MPH over, you may be pulled over.Millsy
