See, just think of the fun we'd be missing out on without the Jimmies!

Let’s not and count your blessings you don’t play the Jimmies this season. 22 days till the Jimmies invade the Viking ship! #chopandcarry

The way this thread has evolved, you can post anything but you should at least try to reference the Jimmies or the city of Jamestown.

Jamestown is the NSIC’s Kevin Bacon. The connection will get there eventually.

              Evolved? I'd say devolved.

I was influenced by a number of my coaches. The most positive one was Les Perry, my football and baseball coach my senior year. Negative ones were a number of my other coaches- some of who I liked as a person. Then I had one that didn't even make that standard. I learned a lot from my college football coach, but that was mostly a fear factor. Also the head coaches who I was an assistant for when I started teaching. I thought that practice didn't have to be drudgery- that you needed to change things up and have some fun. Yah I could crack the whip when it was needed, but I was no Woody Hayes. One thing though- I didn't have a star system. If one of the more gifted athletes thought they could get away with something or think that they couldn't be held to a standard because they were too valuable- they got corrected and even sat down. That message got around to the other players- one, they knew they wouldn't get by with it either and two, they actually liked it that the star was treated like them and didn't get special privileges. That I still get along with a number of players makes me happy. At Buffalo Lake Days I visited with three of them from the same team- and passing on stories to their kids was interesting!

Seeing as this thread is now a free-for-all: I got to go see Devo in concert last June.

It has been beneath the bottom of the barrel for quite a long time. How did you like it? I'd like to see the Blue Man group.

I saw Bob Dylan and Social Distortion this year - probably my top two most wanted to see acts. Nice to have them checked off.

Devo were pretty good. You could tell that Mark Mothersbaugh has lost some of his voice as he's aged (not uncommon.) A couple songs would have benefited from dropping the key a half step or two so his strain wasn't as obvious. I'm not a big people-watcher, but the crowd at the Devo show was nearly as entertaining as the band.

I've seen the Blue Man Group as well. They're also worth seeing.
