That’s the rule with any size group. Some twosomes are slow.
Course specific. They clearly are ok with it there. Many aren’t. I’m not a fan of 5. Takes forever on greens, even if the group playing as 5 doesn’t think so.

If they are going off in a fivesome, they better be playing ready golf...... I hate being behind a large group that plays "the etiquette" and doesn't play ready. Heck, when I am ready, I want to go, I personally hate waiting for someone to take their seventeen practice swings, seven waggles, and then back off and realign. Just hit the d*mn ball and go find it......

We were coming back from the Cities one weekend and driving by Albany Golf Club on 94. There were 7 or 8 guys and four carts at one tee box. All were standing around on the box and all had clubs with them. Probably went off as two fours and joined up once away from the clubhouse......

Do you think that the NSIC is representative of the level of all Division II institutions in all sports? Or would you argue that, specifically for volleyball, the NSIC as a whole is in a class of its own in Division II?

        • Am I falling too much for the Jamestown put up a fight against Mankato or am I the only one that feels like they have a shot against Concordia this week?

There's a better shot than most of their games, but I think CSP wins by 2 scores

I would say there is maybe 1 5some on the course on a given day and most groups are 2-3 people. Pace of play is good.

We also don't require 2somes to pair up to make a slow 4some unless very full.

MGC was incredibly busy from April through the end of August this year almost every day. Now in September even with great weather, not very busy at all.

                  • I think so far it is going as expected for Jamestown, going to take some time. But I think we were all surpised by how they hung with Mankato and it appeared Manakto didn't go easy on them.

                    • Jamestown Men finished 11/11 at the Jewel Invitational, Women finished 9/12. 125 stroke difference between 1st place and last place on the Womens side, wild. It was 70 something on the Mens side.

                      • Tough break for the Jimmies in the VB scheduling.

The 5 teams they have to face twice this year:
St Cloud, Winona, Concordia, Mankato, Northern

I'll be honest, when I made my wins prediction I assumed it would be schools like Mary, Minot, Bemidji, and Crookston hat they'd get 2 wins against.

It's why I said their loss to Concordia was only the beginning. I was surprised they did as well in the non-con stuff as they did, but the ceiling is three conference wins.

                          • I know anything is possible, and there is a small chance that Jamestown maybe has some donor that can change the landscape for them…BUT, I don’t see this getting much better for them in any sport. Many people say, “give them time”. And again, that very well may be the case. But all programs have regressed (of course) and none are winning. When you’re at the bottom, many players don’t want to jump on board. And even though some believe it matters more than others do, their size and location won’t do them favors in that regard either.

I think we’re seeing the Jamestown we’re going to see.

I think they can get 4 or all of those teams potentially.

It's not out of the realm of possibility - Moorhead, Mary, Crookston, Minot and Bemidji. Personally I think they drop to Moorhead of those five, maybe Mary too. We'll see.
