I have a Reddit account and I hate myself for it. What a cesspool. Damn
I only use it for the golf and college football subs. I refuse to go anywhere else.

I’m fortunate enough to have a full head at closer to 50 now than 40. Also no comb used in 20+ years (expect when they use one on me while getting a haircut), and never will enter the combover crew. Zero dollars will leave my pocket trying to fight it, should it happen eventually.
Well, I will move my comment over as well. All of this started with a comment about a basketball coach getting hair plugs.

Why, people? Why? Just go bald gracefully.... I am, have accepted it and I just keep it cut short.
I was at The Barn once when the Goofers were playing Purdue and Gene Keady was the coach. A timeout was called and he decided to chew on one of the refs. He got going so hard that his comb over flopped, and I swear, it went down to his shoulder. Without missing a beat, he took his hand and flopped it back on top and just kept chewing away.

r/golf is fun about 10% of the time (IMO). But I can’t quit it.

          • Jamestown men's hoops is doing pretty well. Jamestown is as ready as Crookston to be in the league I guess.

I know here come the comments -- but the fact is they seem to running a real operation in Jamestown with expectations. Unlike year 65 of Stephanie Helgeson in Crookston

100%. But Crookston shouldn’t be the bar. They should be D3

I have believed for most of the last two years that the closest comparison for UJ is Upper Iowa. Are they a high-level D2 program? No. In fact, they were average at best in most NSIC-sponsored sports. But when you take off the NSIC-colored glasses and put them in a different conference, they prove to be a much more competitive D2 program as a whole.

I don't expect Jamestown to ever be a D2 powerhouse, but I fully believe they are a capable and competitive D2 program.

                • I will give Jamestown credit - the first stretch of the men's basketball season has gone better than expected. 7-6 isn't great - but they are 7-5 DII. 5-2 NSIC. The five DII losses are for a combined 19 points, so that's solid as well. The loss to Minot is the biggest blemish here, and wins against Duluth and Moorhead stand out.

I'm sure someone will get upset that I pointed this out - I'm not saying they're going to win a national championship here, just that they've impressed me thus far. Credit where credit due.

                    • Roughly halfway through the MBB season (10 of 22 conference games played), Jimmies are currently in first place in the North and just one game back of the overall conference leaders.

This is a quality showing from the Jims. Men’s basketball was the sport that I believe most thought they could be competitive. Some thought volleyball, that wasn’t good. MBB seems to be carrying the lance.

And now for the unfortunate downside. All it took was the worst NSIC men’s basketball league in recent memory.

Tip of the cap to the Jimmies. This is a good showing. Bruggeman can coach.

I do agree the league overall is down. With transfer portal world, every year is going to be an unknown going forward.

Moorhead was decimated by the transfer portal.

CSP has been decimated by injuries.

Minot was killed by the portal too.

down, but some of it just unique circumstances.

except Crookston. Yep, always can count on Crookston. Seems to me Stephanie Helgeson will get a big raise and contract extension.

                            • Jims MBB seem to be fairly competitive in their losses too - with a 9 point loss to NSU being their biggest (DII) blunder.

Jims WBB seems to be having a rough go though.

Bruggeman can coach and their ability to hold onto him after last season when a couple of established NSIC teams showed interest tells you they’re doing something right up there. I’d put him near the top of the list of young bb coaching talent in the upper Midwest. His connections and street cred with USD (where he assisted prior to Jamestown hiring him) just got illustrated last week. Just saw that USD picked up Casey’s point guard from last year who was out of D2 eligibility but because of the Pavia case had D1 eligibility. Contacted someone who would know and they confirmed Casey made the suggestion and connection for USD who signed Bennion who is now playing quality minutes at USD. Kind of figured Bruggeman might be involved when Bennion drove up from Vermillion last week and was in attendance at the Augie/Jamestown game. Seems like a small thing, but taking the time to take care of former players when it doesn’t help your team one way or the other builds so much credibility and engenders loyalty which makes the transfer portal less of a problem. Have never met him but he seems like kind of guy I’d want my kid to play for. We’ll see how long Jamestown can hold him.
