Sad day for the Jimmies. That night at Paradiso when he wined and dined the NSIC elite into taking us will never be forgotten, thanks Hiebster! #margs4Hieb

It was less of a "wine and dine" and more of a "Hey we're joining your conference" kinda thing.

      • I wonder if they could get an alum like Bubba Schweigert to take over the program, at least on an interim basis. I wondered about Tom Dosch moving into administration as well.

The final standings were announced today, and Jamestown came in 13th, only slightly behind the Mustangs.

          • Gabbys in Winona used to have mystery pulls from the back bar where you paid $1 and got to pull a beer out of a big covered barrel. Most of the time you got Busch Lite but every once in a while you got a Miller or Bud Lite. I have to image that is how the Jimmys first season went. A lot of terrible play with the ocasional mediocre play. Cheers.

              • No clue if they have any interest in joining one of the conferences if the NSIC ever split, but Mines and Black Hills are about the same driving distance to Minot, Jamestown, Sioux Falls as they are to their nearest trips in Denver right now.

Non-football, Billings is a shorter drive to Moorhead than it is for any current conference trips right now, pretty sure they fly everything in the GNAC. I suspect they would at least be open to talking to a conference based primarily in the Dakotas.

There was a black hills supporter in here a while back claiming they'll never go for it because they recruit Colorado and Arizona so heavy now. They prefer that over fighting for the Dakota kids and Montana/Wyoming

Neither school is in the GNAC, they are in the RMAC for all sports. Mines was in the GNAC only in 2014/2015.

Mistro the slick talker is now the AD and will dominate the league meetings. Tom Dosch is a good person and coach. old yella how many FB games do you REALISTICALLY think Jimmies win?

I believe he was referring to Central Washington and Western Oregon potentially working with the RMAC? Could be wrong though

I am aware both are in the RMAC, hence Denver. I have been to a Black Hills State basketball game before, but know very little about the athletic departments otherwise. I'd love to have both schools in the GNAC and start rebuilding football, but I don't think anyone is seriously (or even unseriously) discussing that right now. I didn't know what their feelings were towards the NSIC.

MSU Billings is non-football and is in the GNAC. I have no direct sources with Billings either, but know the GNAC pretty well. I suspect the opportunity to potentially bus to the Dakota schools and Northern Minnesota rather than fly to the PNW and Alaska is something they would at least be open to exploring.

Apparently I failed to distinguish Billings from the other two in my first post.

4 with Northern being a toss up game even though advantage Dosch we could get 5.
