less oofensive than St. Cloud that dropped football and instead added mens soccerOriginally posted by vikingfaithful View Post
You've been right all along Zimmy about the grifter Jimmies. Sooner or later, having played them will ruin some teams SOS just enough to miss a playoff game or home field advantage, that gets awarded to a MIAA, GLIAC Etc member. Their non-competitiveness will hurt the NSIC. Congratulations league decision makers, you got your 16th team.

In a perfect world we'd kick St. Cloud (and Crookston) out - and not let Jamestown in.Originally posted by MrMustang View Post
I continue to be less bothered we let Jamestown in as compared to not kicking St Cloud out. Jamestown is better run and less embarrassing that St. Cloud

Nailed it!! I'd be just as happy as a 13 team league without any of them. Matter of fact cut another to make it 12 and we can go back to silo lolOriginally posted by SW_Mustang View Post

Of course you are happy that Jamestown is in the league, without them the Mustangs were winless last year.Mavs > Everyone

I don't mind the idea of adding a school - but the schools I want are more akin to a pipedream. The NSIC will never convince Morningside or St. John's to join. I rather we just keep it lean than adding schools that need a life raft.Originally posted by zimmy21 View Post

I'm preaching to the choir here, I know - but I just don't want the conference to become a shelter for expelled GPAC schools or wherever the Jims came from.

Good call, let it go the direction of the NCC instead! That's what all you Mavs are hoping for most I know, because that worked so well for them....Originally posted by SW_Mustang View Post

Are we that concerned that 5 schools will get poached to D1 and a 6th go to NAIA? in the next 5 years?Originally posted by Stanger86 View Post

Dang, if we are so afraid of the conference collapsing then we should just add in the whole GPAC, MiAC, and UMAC... Make it a 60 team Conference. We can play every team once in 5 years in football. God for we leave out the Juco schools too. Better hoard all the upper Midwest schools just in caseMavs > Everyone

Cloud likely would have reached out to the Summit who had tried to pick them up earlier. If they said no, Cloud would have kept football and stayed.Originally posted by vikingfaithful View PostThis is worthless hindsight, but what would have happened if league had the stones to say, "keep football or find a new conference" to SCSU and UMC.
Crookston would be NAIA or UMAC by now.Mavs > Everyone

I know this is a big deal to you for some reason and it's causing you to react emotionally - that's fine. I don't have any sort of "hope" about a dystopian future. I just want the conference to have some discretion. I think that's the way most of us see it to varying degrees.Originally posted by Stanger86 View Post

Also - if calling me a Mav is some kind of swipe, that's pretty pathetic lol.

well, there was ZERO chance we were ever going to kick St. Cloud out -- especially from Mankato - so they get stuck Jamestown since they didn't lead the way on St. Cloud.Originally posted by SW_Mustang View Post

And I agree, both should have been kicked out with no football

Well Mankato administration was never going to be a leader and get rid of St. Cloud. Had they done so, things may have turned out different with JamestownOriginally posted by zimmy21 View Post

My post was about St. Cloud and yet you somehow brought it back to SMSU. Cheers

I think MnSCU would have stepped in and not allowed the NSIC to kick them out, unfortunantely.Originally posted by vikingfaithful View PostThis is worthless hindsight, but what would have happened if league had the stones to say, "keep football or find a new conference" to SCSU and UMC.
But had they done it, UMC would have went to the North Star and may have kept football then and saved that league.
St. Cloud -- who knows, zero leadership there.
