  • From the Jamestown article, at the very end the president says this is the 3rd time Jamestown has been "invited"

So, either she misspoke or the conference has recruited Jamestown....right?

I read that too and took it as "third time been invited to move to NCAA Division II."

Well the NCAA doesn't do invitations. I'm guessing they've been approached in the past by the RMAC, perhaps?

I read it as at least exploratory conversations have been had with the NSIC. First, with the NCC collapse, then with the expansion where Minot and USF were added. I've never heard this before. As for the articles, they are clearly written from a Jamestown perspective. I don't believe the decision is nearly as clear-cut as they believe it to be.

Yes, I questioned that too. The Jimmies have to ask to move up, they don't get asked by the division. Something isn't kosher here.

I'm just following your cues. SMSU rises up with their addition, so you guys can feel better about your program. That's not about football? I feel just fine with our No. 6 volleyball program, for example.

The main thing going against it is that it has a track. Otherwise, it is very nice.

                Nope. Program = athletic program

You should, that’s SMSU’s one trick pony and they’re good.

I think everything is relative, in parts of Texas that would be seen as average for High School football. For the NSIC nothing to ride home about, I would say average as well.

The track and the giant high school logo on the field

I'm old enough to remember people making fun of the Wolves for playing on a field with high school logo and track...in fact I believe there was a YouTube about it being the worst college field in the state. Haha

There is a video, but it was released well after the Wolves stopped playing there - the video guy didn't do his research.

Hopefully that No. 6 program stays at No. 6 after tomorrow night

                          ;)

What's wrong with a track around your home football field?

Screams lets cut costs, football and track is a high school cost saver at most districts. Really takes away from the game day atmosphere.

Personally, I don't really notice a big difference with or without a track, but others certainly do.
