I knew they left the MVFC but I wasn't aware they left the Summit.

That's how you know a program shouldn't be D1 - when they get kicked around by *checks notes* USD in basketball and Murray State(?) in football.

    • I was going to root for Jamestown because they're getting beat up on this board, then I remembered they have orange uniforms. Like the fruit, dislike the color. 👎

Was it a pity invite? They are 17-12, finished 6th in the conference and didn’t win the conference tournament. Anyway, congrats.

Probably a low barrier to entry. Dakota Wesleyan also got in with a couple more wins.

              It's NAIA.

Think they are getting beat up now? Just wait until they play contests.

18 months until the beatings commence. Hope the league goes undefeated against them for 3/4 years and they tuck their tail and run off

Won't happen, might struggle at first again Mankato & Duluth but will be competitive against the other former NAIA schools in the league, the addition of Dakota State will help the win total as well.

You're not beating Sioux Falls, you're not beating Mary, you're not even beating Minot. Just fold the program and shut down the school

Did they move because they were tired of getting beat up or was it to save money on travel? Or both? To me the Ohio Valley Conference travel map seems a little tighter than the Missouri Valley Conference and much more than the Summit League.

I'd say both. Their men's team has never made the Big Dance. Football had to run the gauntlet of what is IMO the toughest FCS conference.

                          • Best fit for Bellevue would be NAIA's KCAC which has already taken in non-football York College of Nebraska. Travel would be better than North Star based on the eye-test. Bellevue enrollment has a lot to do with commuter & on-line students. Do not believe they have dorms of any size, if any.

Any news about Dakota St, Mayville & Valley City?

You need to work on your NSIC history if you think those are the only three in the conference's history to ever move from NAIA to D2.
