From the list I heard/saw, Winona and Mankato were at or very near 36. I don’t think any other MN school is above 32, but I could absolutely be wrong on that. I’m going from the last info I had, which isn’t brand new.

I think the only time state funding has come up as an advantage for MN schools is in building stadiums. Definitely not with scholarships.

This may not still be the case, but used to be, that minnesota did allow tax dollars to go towards athletic scholarships and South Dakota did not allow state funds to be allowed for athletic scholarships.

It's been many years since I learned about this, but atleast then, that was the case.

Again, i don't know all the ins and outs as well as I used to, but typically the dollars can be spent on building projects, travel, salaries, but most of the rest is privately funded. Coaches salaries at that level and travel add up quite quickly.

If I have the numbers correct, of the $100 million in projects Northern did over the past ten to fifteen years, they got like $15-$20 millions from the state, which the majority went toward the new SD School for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

I know FB&T Arena was privately funded - but I still find it funny that SDSU shut down the dairy barn in Watertown around the same time they announced the arena. It made a lot of people upset.

At least it shows what their priorities are. Sad thing is, some people want SMSU to be that way - sacrifice academics for sports.

Offense has now scored 6 tds in 8 games !

opposing defenses have scored 9 tds -- with another pick 6 by Moorhead this one for 95 yards! amazing

2nd 90 yard td this year by a defense against the Mustangs. Seems impossible yet here we are.

Wyatt Oak looked ok in the 2nd half at times. but for most of the gae we could not do much.

Amazing how afte the last few years of good line and running games we CAN'T run the ball at all. i get they are stacking th box but we can't do anything running the ball.

That is what I heard, but that was several years ago. I think that StateU did the research but since SCSU went down the toilet he doesn't go to their sporting contests anymore. Really sad for an institution to suffer such poor leadership. I guess substituting a poetry contest for Homecoming and men's soccer for football was their solution.

Yes, I would like to see a list of football scholarships for each NSIC school.

Total offense: SMSU 159th out of 159; UMary 155th out of 159.
Yards per play: SMSU 159th out of 159; UMary 157th out of 159.
Scoring offense: SMSU 159th out of 159; UMary 153rd out of 159.

SMSU is at home, but UMary had last weekend off.
