Well Mary isn't awful, I flew to Bismark, then rented a car and drove to Minot to see the Warriors last year. But D2 football is tough, lot's of long bus trips. I know when Winona played at Saginaw State in Michigan. They had a night game, and rode the bus straight home afterwards.

This is the 3rd week in a row that AU is facing a 2 loss team. Punishment for Augie's easier early in the season schedule. True freshman QB.Rich Lucero Jr. has done a fantastic job at quarterback. Wish injured Gunnar Hensley was playing, he was masterful throwing in windy games. Along with USF, I think of Mavs as a rival school, They compete well in many sports. Do not have a clue as to which team has the upper hand. Don't expect much for attendance, because of cold, windy and chance of rain weather. Typical late season NSIC conditions.

Little bit of history. This will be the 18th game played between the Dragons and Jamestown. MSUM holds a 13-3-1 record in the series, but they haven’t played since 1953. That year, the Dragons defeated the Jimmies, 31-0.

It’s one of two North Dakota neighbors they’ve played several times, the other is Valley City State. Against that team, the Dragons are 21-6, last playing in 2009 where MSUM won 16-6. On that North Dakota note, they’re 4-0 against Mayville State, last winning against them in 2007, 21-7, and 1-0 versus Dickinson State.

Meanwhile, they are 11-8 against Mary and 16-4 versus Minot State. Not that it’s a four year, but to note, they are 9-0 against North Dakota State College of Science. They’ve had much less success against the big schools of North Dakota, going 0-13 against the Fighting Hawks and 3-13-1 versus the Bison.

Northern almost certainly has no chance of making the playoffs, but trying to get to an 8-3 record is still something to play for. This game vs Minot could be a real difficult test. The weather is going to be bad, the crowd is going to be sparse, and the Beavers play a style that could lead to a very frustrating day. This will be a real test as to what kind of energy the Wolves can bring. Hopefully NSU can score early and prevent Minot from controlling the ball and the clock the entire game. If NSU can get up a couple scores early it could lead to an easy win, but this game is more likely to come down to the wire.

Britt has obviously played better the past few weeks. I think his style of play may be better fitted to playing in this 2 QB system. He can come in an run the ball well and make enough throws to keep the defense honest. Bagozzi would probably benefit if he was the #1 guy and was able to get into more a of rhythm with the offense. Unfortunately for him, he hasn't played well enough to earn the majority of the snaps, and Britt has. Overall, I've been pleasantly surprised how good the offense has looked with both QBs until last week.

Winona St at Mary - Oh how Mary's season could have been different if only they would have hung on against AU. But they didn't.... Does Winona have enough left in the tank? How far is this drive? Winona on the road has not been good. Can they correct it? Is Mary the sleeper team of the year?

Jamestown at MSU Morehead - Jamestown's first look at a D1 QB playing on a D2 squad? Can Strand go for 400+ through the air? Why does he not use his feet more? Honestly, he is a good runner.

Bemidji St at Duluth - Who is going to keep us posted on this game? I shouldn't be interested but I am as Bemidji has been good vs UMD, but it isn't years past BSU teams. How cold is this game going to be? Snow?

Concordia at Southwest MSU - Who wants let out of the basement?

Mankato at Augustana - Not the game I had thought it was going to be. Neither of the two QBs I thought were going to duke it out. Oh well, that is the season. Playoff game for Mankato? Could they knock off AU or fall to 3 losses. I think I had a post about the number of possible three loss teams in the NSIC but didn't get a lot of banter.....

Wayne State at Sioux Falls - Closest game of the week? Wayne has really looked improved as of late. Not the early to mid season Wildcats, that is for sure. USF has looked consistent under the direction of Tate S at QB. How close?

Minot St at Northern St - If this game was in Minot I would have picked them. I cannot as it is at The Bank. Who is on my side now with Britt? I was a day 1 of the season Britt fan but the NSU faithful wanted to play with the new shiny toy in Bagozzi......
Still not a Britt guy. Good with his legs, makes a lot of mistakes with his arm

According to what Schmidt has told the team, Northern still has a decent shot but we have to win out obviously and we need some help.

Hopefully they play like a team that still has a chance to make the playoffs, no matter how slim it might be. NSU will need A LOT of help to get in, but it is still possible I suppose.

On another note, we already have a couple inches of snow on the ground in Aberdeen and it is still coming down. It’s supposed to stop well before 2 pm so hopefully the field will be cleared and it won’t affect the game much.

Usf might have a tough one on their hands today. Masters is a good coach, and Wayne St has talent. My nephew played with Dannenbring (Wayne QB). Fast athlete who has learned to throw consistently it seems

Snow looks amazing in Bismark. Mary up 7-0 after the first drive. Not too many brave fans though on TV looks like maybe 100 LOL

Mary broadcast actually knows how to zoom in and zoom out and a camera from each side. Much better than some.

Dragons up 20-14 on Jamestown midway in the second. Missed a PAT. Offense is chugging but defense and special teams have had some sloppy moments.
