Only been to a few stadiums as a visitor. For Bemidji State, it's definitely a stadium that shows its age, plus it doesn't have many amenities in terms of restrooms or concessions. Though I will say I like the setup with plenty of stadium seating on both sides of the field, plus it's one of the most scenic thanks to its position on the lake.

As for Concordia St. Paul, I've only been a visitor, but the stands are OK for the away side. The Stadium doesn't have much of an identity, though, since it's main grandstand looks narrow, making it appear smaller. Also, odd tangent but the name always throws me considering how Minnesota is very far away from any sea foam.

As for my alma mater, I think MSUM has done what they can with what they have. The addition of turf by having Scheels as a sponsor gave the field a nice look with the big Dragon logo and filled in endzones. Plus the school added a video board for replays which was a long time coming. The rest of the stadium has shown its age a bit, but the main grandstand is still nice and spacious, the visitor section has enough room for away fans as well.

Parking there is a bit of a pain, as there's not much available. But for students, it's great, because it's at the end of campus near where all the dorms are. Perhaps the biggest advantage, though, is that it's practically attached to the fieldhouse, meaning concessions and bathrooms are all inside and there's space to get away from the elements.

When it comes to future upgrades, it's a wait and see deal. Administration has hinted that they're looking at more improvements in the future. However, MSUM also recently built a new alumni center and are in the middle of renovating one of their old buildings, Weld Hall, with a huge project. So, we'll see.

Someone can correct me if I am mistaken but I believe that the Sea Foam Stadium is named/sponsored by the Motor Treatment/Cleaner brand "Sea Foam" based in Chaska, MN.

Much like how Moorhead has the Scheels branding

The founder of Sea Foam is in CSP's Athletics Hall of Fame and was a member of the school's first football team.

Oh I'm aware that it's named after a person. Still, seeing a stadium with the name Sea Foam in Minnesota, rather than, say, San Diego, still makes me have a double take.

Winona States stadium was sponsored by Midwest Wireless in 2004. Several years later they were bought but Alltel then Verizon a year or two later. Winona State had fun changing the name so many times. I read somewhere they were the first or one of first college stadiums in the state with corporate sponsorship.

Is there one name that has stuck with the fanbase despite the changes? I feel like that's bound to happen with sponsorship changes. Grand Casino Arena, for example, will probably still be referred to as The X for years to come by Wild fans.

Most people call it Maxwell Field which is what it was before the branding. The current name is Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium. Small D2 football stadium doesn't carry the nostalgia factor of an NHL arena name wise. They could name it just about anything and people wouldn't bat an eye.

I always find it weird when people get nostalgic/upset over the changing of corporate sponsorships.

Nostalgia plays a big role, I'm very guilty of it. Staples Center in LA, Heinz Field in Pittsburg, Pro Player Stadium in Miami.... When you have memories of a certain era the stadium name almost becomes synonymous with the team itself.

I think some of the most "special" partnerships (for lack of a better word) are those where it doesn't even sound corporate. Like it just dawned on me that the United Center in Chicago is a corporate sponsorship.....names like that don't feel forced. And yes, I think nostalgia is a big part of that.

There's definitely an element of the name living with the history and experiences people had there. I still refer to the Seattle Mariner's stadium as Safeco, which it hasn't been since 2018 - but I also haven't been to a game there since then.

More on topic, D2 needs more small stadiums with seats on all four sides like Winona.

The ones in the South end zone are a little to close to the action without padding. I believe an Augustana player ran into them years ago at a good speed.

I sat there a few years ago with a friend. It was a tad close. She asked me if I was going to shield her if a player ran into us. I told her I wouldn't be able to in time- they did come close.

Some years ago, an Augie player crashed hard into a short bleachers in the end zone. he wasn't injured. I always liked how intimate games are at Maxwell field, although it's been 20 years ago.

Good to hear, saw a replay of it and it looked like it had potential to be bad. I usually sit in the top row of those bleachers so Im out of the way.
