    Re: RMAC Signing Day Central

Not sure what is going on with Mesa, but this looks pretty bad to me. Definitely going in the wrong direction...

Any of you CO guys know anything about the big olineman from Valor Christian that the Eagles signed. Great size and moves pretty well...can't believe he didn't get some offers from the CO schools...

Are you referring to having only 17 players?

I don't know anything about Mesa's roster past the #1s, but if they're retaining players really well, it could be the case that they don't have as much money to spread around, or that they're focusing more on getting quality players with bigger offers, instead of simply trying to fill lockers.

A 6'7 QB that could have been a preferred walk-on at Oregon State seems like a promising add.

Valor is THE premier HS program in Colorado. I'm guessin' he's pretty good - not GREAT - but a solid, quality kid. The McCaffery's are all Valor kids.

I thought the same as CSCPRIDE... surely a starting O-lineman on the best team in the state would get more than one or two offers (BHSU also offered). Then I spent a few minutes looking at his social media and he has been taking every D1 visit he can take without any interest. My thought was maybe someone was advising him he was high-level D1, when he's really high-level D2. He transferred to Valor as a senior, and CSC was on him very soon after (this is just according to social media, I don't know him).

One of the CSC assistant coaches seems to have a pretty good relationship with the gym the kid belongs to, also. They're always tagging each other in Twitter posts.

I think Liban Shongolo is a really good get, his high school team is terrible but the kid is a really good athlete who made plays from a lot of different positions. I was hoping he was going to follow his brother Noor who just finished an awesome career at CSUP.

Pueblo looks to again have a great class. Much more skill position focused which is not a surprise looking at their needs. Couple of instant impact transfers and freshman. Lots of speed and athleticism... again no surprise.

Unfortunately it looks like success was more a flash in the pan rather than consistently building a contender. The conference desperately needs Mesa to be a legit top 25 team in my opinion.

If Pueblo has found a QB between Kitna or Lamphere this addition could be big.

CSUP focused on the offense -- skill positions in particular. QB Steven Croell, lefty from Broomfield HS, has a strong arm. In his highlight video, he demonstrates that strength by throwing several 40+ yard passes with relative ease, without a lot of air, and with more than sufficient accuracy. As for RB, CSUP brought in a couple of big kids from Arizona; one 6-3, 195 and the other 6-2, 180. Both have decent speed and good evasive moves. Physicality between the tackles is good. WR is where CSUP really turned up the speed. Andrew Cook, Colby Dickie and Quinton Powell, 3 recruits from Arizona, are very fast. Cook runs a 3.9, 40 and both he and Dickie run the 100 in the 10.8 range. Darian Paris, Horizon HS is also fast, but even better, he is big and physical. This class should help the Pack develop the pass-run-option offense instituted this past season -- where speed is a must. Speed was acquired.
