  • If I were seeding SR4 for 2022 Playoffs..

    1) Angelo State (11-0)
    2) Colorado Mines (9-2)
    3) Minnesota State (9-2)
    4) Bemidji State (9-2)
    5) Wayne State (9-2)
    6) Colorado State Pueblo (8-3)
    7) Winona State (8-3)

This setup would prevent any rematches in the 1st round.

    Thoughts?

We'll see if saving money is the priority or not.

How does the bracket work? Is it like this?

      1 gets bye
      4 vs 5

      3vs6
      2vs7

If it's like that, then Bemidi State plays Wayne State, and I would have thought that would be rematch as they are in the same conference, but checking their schedule, these two teams never met in the regular season.

No. 5-7 are unseeded and get paired with the team that minimizes travel costs. They will avoid a rematch as long as the travel is less than 600 miles so it can be done by bus

CSUP will 100% be getting a rematch with Mines. The NCAA is not about paying for dinner when there are leftovers in the fridge. Go get a second serving and call it the first round of the playoffs.

That being said, I wonder how 2-4 will actually get seeded. Mankato has been red hot and won a ton of games against NSIC teams with winning records. Wayne State was nearly as good, including a win over Mankato. Mines conference SOS was .500, since they played everyone in their conference, with a boost for Angelo St and GVSU. I would be a little disappointed, but not at all shocked if those three get switched around. Regardless of where Mines falls, they will play Pueblo in the first round.

How anyone that isn't brand new to this hasn't caught on to the fact that the NCAA basically couldn't care any less about D2 is beyond me. It's a business and this product simply isn't profitable.
