The 2019-20 WCHA Men's Composite Schedule is supposed to be released this morning. We will finally know for sure who all the non-conference opponents are.

I'm hoping to add some new teams that I haven't seen play before to add to my list.

I'm disappointed. No new men's teams on my list for the MSU men. St Cloud is hosting Northeastern on Oct 25-26, hope to make it up there to check them off.

Maybe the MSU or SCSU women can add someone. Not sure when their schedules will be out.

I am kind of disappointed in the BSU Men's Schedule. They go to Alaska twice, so in theory, they could have played 38 games with the exemption. But, they only have 34 games on their schedule. I know in years past when they have went to Alaska, they always played 36, so they are leaving two games on the table. Not sure if something may come down at a later date, or if they just could get anyone's schedule to match up to theirs. Oh well, with my boy's hockey schedule and billeting for the Alexandria Blizzard junior team, I will probably miss out on making it to any Beaver games again this year......

Hopefully future schedules will include a school here in the east. Quinnipiac would be nice.

Boston is a great town, even with all those Red Sox fans around.

Non-WCHA, but former member Colorado College is going to build a new arena.

Alabama-Huntsville is in the process of trying to get an on campus arena as well. I hope they can pull it off.

Thanks laker, the women obviously did well in the classroom this year! I see Mankato and Bowling Green did it on the men's side, so congrats to Mankato on doubling up!

So, what are the chances we see St. Thomas make a move to get hockey to D-I? I have posted my thoughts over in the football thread.....

I think that if they did, it wouldn't take long to get an invitation from the WCHA.

I'm not sure on their arena situation though........

Right now, that is the biggest stumbling block. They play their games at St. Thomas Academy out in Mendota Heights, which seats 1400.

They could probably try and get some ice time at one of the bigger Twin Cities arenas, but I don't believe there are any close to campus that would have D-I seating capacities.... Or maybe work something out with the U and Ridder Arena?

UAA is moving their games to on campus. I was at Sullivan Arena for Gopher basketball back in 1994 when they won the Great Alaska Shootout. I would assume that their on campus building is much smaller, but I don't know what kinds of crowds that they draw.

Meanwhile, Alaska Fairbanks earlier this spring announced that it will remain in the Carlson Center this season but is looking to move back on campus within two years. The Nanooks' on-campus rink will serve as a backup home arena this season.
