  • That was probably the least amount of the National Championship game I have watched in 20+ years.... The interest just wasn't there for me. Start time of 4 PM central didn't help as we were on the way home from a hockey tryout, and the fact the Wild were on at the same time once we did get home. Did catch the last 10 minutes, though.

      Regardless of the sport, I want to see some new teams involved. This is why I wanted Illinois to win the men's BB title, and UCLA to win the women's. This is why I loved it when Indiana won the football title. Couldn't get too excited about the Frozen Four but the TV was turned to it. Such an odd time for a title game.

      • With Wiscconsin's season finally over SCSU can announce that Nick Oliver is the new Head Coach.

        I see that SCSU is adding mens and womens golf and mens cross country

          If I was actually *AT* the Frozen Four in Vegas, I think the 2 PM PT start would have been awesome. Get up, grab some brunch and a drink, head to the game. Once the game is over, it would be around 6 PM PT, you had time to catch a red eye back home, or time to do some last minute sight seeing or gambling before a Sunday flight home.

          But yeah, for TV and the casual fans back home, 4 PM CT, or 3 PM MT, that is right in the middle of the day. And since I didn't have a care who won, it was pretty easy *NOT* to carve out time to watch it.

            I recently saw some "rank the best sporting events" and the Super Bowl topped the list. I haven't bothered to watch the game for several years. If the teams don't interest me, I don't bother. Same with the World Series and Stanley Cup. The NBA- not even close. If some team is in for the first time, that is different. But pro sports is pretty low on my list.

            • The Wild, Wild West of the portal season is off to a strong start today. From Jared Rubado and the Bemidji Pioneer this morning, CCHA entrants at approximately 9:30 AM CT:^ denotes a Designated Student-Athlete
              * denotes a no-contact tag.

              • I actually think Lake State and Ferris have been smart in rebuilding their teams via the portal. Plus they each bring in a couple of draft picks.
