Yes, Yes, Yes. 4th seed Vikings beat #1 Gorillas twice on their home field to clinch regional. I was with my wife at the Orpheum theatre in Omaha watching a Broadway musical, "Mrs. Doubtfire". Pretty wife pre-warned me, no phone usage during production, which was killing me. In the end, Alls well that ends well. Onto, Super Regional against a familiar foe and rival in Central, MO.Mules.

Alex Tech got the four seed at Nationals and will play Brookdale Saturday night. Double elimination tournament, so they will play again Sunday, no matter what.

I didn't know that Jason Fischer was now the head of baseball development there and wasn't the head coach the past two seasons until I saw a post on Twitter today.

The Legends' run is done. They fell yesterday morning (weather pushed the game back to Monday morning) 8-7 to #1 Dallas-Eastfield. They had a 7-1 lead going into the seventh and Dallas-Eastfield chipped away in the final three innings to walk it off in the ninth.

The Legends then fell to Northern Essex in the losers bracket 12-7.

Still not bad for a fourth year program, a top five finish Nationally. Watching Xitter, it looks like they are going to keep the Central Minnesota pipeline going.

Former UMC/Wadena-Deer Creek HS product Jake Dykhoff has been picked up by the Baltimore Orioles organization. He has been pitching with the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks, had an awesome season last year, and had a good first outing with the 'Hawks this year before being picked up.

His brother Josh, who is also a former UMC/Wadena-Deer Creek HS product, is having a heck of a season with Kansas, helping them to the Big 12 title and a NCAA Regional Host.

Not D-II, but..... wow, 7 of the 16 teams to make the D-I Baseball Super Regionals were #4 seeds in their Regional. Of course, the other 9 were #1 seeds.

Surprised they don't reseed the Super Regionals. Georgia/Mississippi State and Texas/Oregon are #1s that play each other, while Troy/Little Rock are two #4s that square off. The other five Supers are #1 vs #4.

I guess at least this way there will be one Cinderella in Omaha.

That's a quirk of how the NCAA website displays the bracket. Only Little Rock and St. John's are actually #4 seeds.

Still, should get a Cinderella out of the Little Rock vs. Troy matchup, as the is a #3 vs #4.

And Kansas is still alive, with Josh Dykoff, a former UMC/Wadena-Deer Creek HS product. They get to host Oklahoma.

#3 Cal Poly vs #1 West Virginia
#4 Little Rock vs #3 Troy
#1 North Carolina vs #2 Southern Cal
#2 Ole Miss vs #1 Auburn
                        #2 Oklahoma vs #1 Kansas
                        #4 St. John's vs #1 Alabama
                        #1 Texas vs #1 Oregon
#1 Mississippi St vs #1 Georgia

North Carolina and Georgia have secured trips to Omaha Sunday afternoon.

That leaves Oklahoma (1-0)/Kansas, St. John's/Alabama (1-0) and Texas (1-0)/Oregon. They all have game 2s coming up later Sunday. Game 3s would be Monday, if needed.

The best two game series of the weekend was Mississippi State at Georgia. State had plenty of chances and plenty of runs- it just didn't go their way. Should have been a game 3 but that isn't the way that it goes. UNC had a great ending to pull off that win. Growing up USC was a big name every year.
