Jake Riepma graduated from Northwood in 2015 where he played football from 2011-2015. At the conclusion of his collegiate career, he earned the GLIAC's Jack H. McAvoy Award in recognition of outstanding character, service, and leadership throughout his tenure at Northwood.
In 2018, Riepma graduated with a Master's degree in broadcast journalism from Northwestern University specializing in Sports Media at the Medill School of Journalism.
In addition to contributing to D2Football.com, Riepma currently works for Entercom Detroit as a Sports Update Anchor on 97.1 The Ticket and WWJ News Radio 950.

Eight teams remain in the NCAA DII football playoffs and for the fourth consecutive year, the Ferris State Bulldogs are among the final eight teams playing football. It’s one of countless accomplishments making up the laundry list of successes in the Tony Annese era at Ferris State that began in December of 2011.

After a two-week hiatus, the GLIAC champion and Super Region Three’s top-ranked Ferris State Bulldogs will be in action on Saturday at Top Taggart Field in Big Rapids in the second round of the NCAA DII Playoffs. The Bulldogs welcome in the University of Central Missouri after the Mules knocked off the University of Indianapolis 37-27 in the opening round last weekend.

Week 7 on the gridiron in the GLIAC brought us two of the more dramatic finishes we have seen all year as Ashland and Wayne State battled it out in a double overtime thriller, and Saginaw Valley State saw a victory evaporate in the final seconds compliments of a late Lindenwood touchdown. The second weekend of GLIAC play is a welcomed sight as Saturday’s slate features four conference battles and just one nonconference tilt, meaning there are only five games to preview instead of eight or nine like we had during nonconference play. Wayne State finally gets a crack at a GLIAC opponent as the Warriors will welcome the unbeaten, and now 25th-ranked-Saginaw Valley State Cardinals to Tom Adams Field for a night cap and WSU’s first conference game of the season.
