Moving the ball upfield seemed so easy for Kutztown in the first three quarters of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference football championship Saturday.
The 10-0 Golden Bears took their third possession, drove 80 yards in six plays, and led 7-0 at Andre Reed Field. It began a run of five straight possessions that ended with touchdowns.
Even when No. 13 PSAC East champion Kutztown and No. 8 PSAC West champion Slippery Rock (11-0) traded touchdowns on seven straight possessions, the Golden Bears never trailed, taking a 35-21 lead midway through the third quarter on quarterback Collin DiGalbo’s 3-yard run.
