Week four is here (today), and this will be a great week of football for the D2 NE10 Conference. As we look at the conference standings Franklin Pierce has been a pleasant surprise so far this Season. Southern CT is trying to notch its first win this week after a brutal three-game schedule. As the season moves along you can expect New Haven and Assumption to stay at the top of the conference with Bentley nipping at their heels.
NE10 GAME TO WATCH
Bentley 28 @ Southern CT 17: Bentley is coming off an impressive performance over Post and looks to keep things going against a gritty and resilient Southern CT squad. The Owls have had a brutal early schedule and things do not get any easier this week. They face the Falcon's balanced offensive attack, which includes Vinni Holms who is averaging 147 yards of rushing per game, and QB Mark Waid who threw three touchdown passes last week versus Post. The Owls will keep it close early, but the Falcon's run game and ability to throw the ball down the field is the difference in this one.
GAME PREDICTIONS
New Haven 35 @ Franklin Pierce 14: Franklin Pierce had a dominant win last week against Pace and they look to carry that momentum into today's game against the Chargers. The Chargers have had a tough schedule thus far, but they are starting to play the football we all expected them to play before the season started. The Charger's defense has been on fire and Defensive Back Giye Jenkins has been dominant, winning back-to-back NE10 Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Post 7 @ St. Anselm’s 21: Post has struggled so far this season. St. Anselm’s running game has been solid, but they have struggled in the passing game. An inability to convert on third down has been a problem for St. Anselm this year. This is the week they move the ball downfield (Air Raid) style!
Pace 10 @ AIC 21: Pace is looking for their first win this season and they face an AIC team that has some weapons. AIC’s ability to hit the big play gives the Yellow Jackets the edge this week.
