Spoke with East Central Head Football Coach Tim McCarty about ECU Football and the upcoming season. Below is a transcript of our conversation. [Editorial note: Parts of this interview were edited to preserve the flow of the conversation.]

Armo
: Coach McCarty thanks for taking time out of your schedule to speak with me today about East Central Football.

Coach McCarty

Armo
: Thanks, I appreciate that. Last year you had the second best passing offense in the GAC, but you lost Wide Receiver Caleb Holley to graduation. Could you talk about how you are dealing with the loss of such a big impact player?

Coach McCarty

Armo
: You still have Quarterback Spencer Bond returning. Could you discuss what it means offensively to have him returning under center again this year?

Coach McCarty

Armo
: Switching to defense. You lost Defensive End Alex King, Defensive Tackle Charles Ramsey and Safety Fred Gaines. What impact will that have on your defense as you head into the 2014 season?

Coach McCarty

Armo
: Speaking of players returning, you mentioned Defensive Tackle JuJu Turituri. You also have guys like Qumain Black at Cornerback and Linebacker Kellan DeLaRosa. Talk about what that means to your defense to have that core group of experienced defensive players returning in terms of how it alleviates those losses you hit on in the last question and what it does for you in the upcoming season.

Coach McCarty

Armo
: You open the season on September 6th at Arkansas-Monticello. Talk a little bit about opening on the road.

Coach McCarty

Armo
: Coach McCarty I want to thank you again for taking time to discuss East Central football with me today and wish you good luck with the season.

Coach McCarty
: Thank you very much and appreciate having a chance to visit with you.
