Edinboro

2013 Record: 5-6 (3-4 PSAC West)
Spring practice schedule
Spring Game: April 26, 9:30am?

My thoughts: The Fighting Scots have endured two consecutive losing seasons and they are very determined to break that streak. They had one of the smallest senior classes in the conference last year so they do have a lot of experience coming back. The O-line made some strides from 2012 to 2013 and if they can continue that trend the offense should be good. The whole team will get a big boost with the return of Cody Harris at QB.

Gannon

2013 Record: 6-5 (4-3 PSAC West)
2014 Schedule

My thoughts: The running game was vastly improved last season and was a big part of going from 3 wins in 2012 to 6 in 2013. Finding a replacement for Jansen Jones will be important for spring ball but the rest of the offense should be very crisp. Defense is where the Golden Knights need to make the most gains and the addition of new DC John Thompson is a great start. The Knights are trending in the right direction and if they improve in a few key areas, they could be ready for a big year.

From Coach Rzyczycki

Indiana

2013 Record: 9-2 (5-2 PSAC West)
2014 Schedule
Spring game: IUP will not hold a formal spring game

My thoughts: The Crimson Hawks suffered tons of injuries last year, but the benefit for this season is that a lot of players gained valuable experience. If the starting five on the O line can come together quickly as a group, it will make things easier on the new starting QB. Defensively, they have a couple of holes to fill, but they have experience at all three levels so they should be a powerful unit again.

Mercyhurst

2013 Record: 7-4 (4-3 PSAC West)
Spring practice schedule
Spring Game: Sunday, April 27, 12:00

My thoughts: the Lakers win with Defense and a strong running game. Both should be very good again in 2014. If a new starting quarterback emerges in spring ball, this team should contend for the PSAC West title.

Millersville

2013 Record: 1-10 (1-6 PSAC East)
2014 Schedule
Spring practice schedule

Spring Game: Saturday, April 26, 6:00

My thoughts:From Coach Breitbach:

Seton Hill

2013 Record: 1-10 (0-7 PSAC West)
2014 Schedule

My thoughts: Seton Hill was outmanned last year due to an already thin roster and a lot of injuries. The Griffins are bringing in several transfers that could make an immediate impact, so spring drills will be critical for getting the team to come together. A few very important veterans are back from injury as well. As a team, they should in much better shape in 2014 and familiarity with all of their opponents will also help.

Coach Collins was extremely generous with the time he took to provide info on what the program is working on for the coming season, so I will be sharing much more of it later this year.

From Coach Collins:

Shippensburg

2013 Record: 7-4 (6-1 PSAC East)
2014 Schedule:
Spring practice schedule
Spring game: Saturday, April 12, 1:00

My Thoughts: They have some big holes to fill on defense and obviously replacing Zach Zulli is a huge challenge. Last year, they relied on the senior quarterback while several receivers gained experience. This year will be the opposite. They will have quite a few veteran receivers, and they will have to help a new QB develop into a starting role.

From Coach Mac:

Slippery Rock

2013 Record: 9-3 (6-1 PSAC West) PSAC West Champion, NCAA Playoffs
2014 Schedule

My thoughts:West Chester

2013 Record: 13-2 (6-1) Super Region 1 Champion, NCAA Playoffs
2014 Schedule
Spring Game: Saturday, April 26, 12:00

My thoughts: The Golden Rams have holes to fill, but the talent is there to draw from. Rondell White accounted for a big portion of the Rams' offense for the last couple of years, but there are enough talented skill players coming back to carry the load. If the Offensive Line comes together, this is going to be a very good team again in 2014. The defense should be very stout once again and will be anchored by one of the best groups of linebackers in the conference.
