As it always does, mid-season got here in a hurry. It seems like just a few days ago that we baked in the summer humidity to see the season openers for our favorite teams and now it won't long until we're dragging out the heavy parkas, gloves and boot warmers. Since we're now past week 6, its time for another quarter run-down of the 16 teams in the PSAC. It's a simple concept...16 teams, 4 quarters = 4 teams per quarter. Let's see where everyone stacks up.

The First Quarter

The Fourth Quarter

First Quarter ranking: 8

Clarion dropped from the bottom of the second quarter all the way to the top of the fourth. The Golden Eagles looked set to make some steps
forward after a 2-1 start with the loss coming in a respectable
performance at D1 St. Francis. Unfortunately, the second quarter of the season was not so kind. Clarion lost all three games in weeks 4-6 by an average margin of 24 points. Two the opponents they faced (Mercyhurst and Edinboro) were winless at the time of their meetings. Clarion seems to hit a funk in the middle of every season, and they are in the thick of it now. I placed them behind a pair of one win teams because frankly, I think they have less going form them right now. The unfortunate thing is that they just let some potentially winnable games get away from them. The Golden Eagles really need to win this weekend at Seton Hill because it is probably their last decent shot at victory this year.
