Divisional Titles On The Line In The PSAC
1. Slippery Rock (8-1, 5-1)2. IUP (6-2, 5-1) 3. Clarion (7-2, 4-2)4. California (6-3, 4-2) The simplest scenarioStill fairly simple scenario
If Clarion can get back on the winning track and upset Rock, it would leave the door open for IUP to claim the West with a win over Gannon. In this scenario, IUP would be alone in first place with a 6-1 divisional record. In short, a Rock loss and an IUP win means the Crimson Hawks win the division.
A more complex scenarioAn even more complex scenario
A three-way tie could become four-way tie with a Clarion win over Rock, a Cal victory over Mercyhurst and an IUP loss to Gannon. In that scenario, all four would finish 5-2 in the division.
It could be just as interesting on the other side of the state.
1. Shippensburg (7-2, 5-1) - lost to Bloomsburg. Defeated West Chester, East Stroudsburg
2. West Chester (6-3, 5-1)3. East Stroudsburg (5-4, 4-2)4. Bloomsburg (5-4, 4-2)5. Kutztown (5-4, 4-2)The simplest scenario
Ship is tied with West Chester atop the East standings at 5-1 but the Raiders defeated WCU 27-11 three weeks ago, which leaves the Raiders in control. A win this weekend would put them back in the PSAC Championship game for the second time in the last four years.
Still fairly simple scenario
If Shippensburg falls to Kutztown, West Chester can claim the outright title with a win over East Stroudsburg. The Rams would finish 6-1 in the East, a game over everyone else.
Now its getting ugly
If Ship and West Chester both lose they would fall to 5-2 and their opponents this week, Kutztown and ESU, would also be 5-2. Yep. Another four-way tie possibility.
