Adams State v. West Texas A&M: Saturday, October 14th 5 PM

The Buffaloes had one of their most difficult games of the season, last week against Kingsville. The offense gave up 8 sacks and 3 TFLs while accumulating a total of 12 yards on 32 rush attempts. The Buffs have still continued their issues of offensive production. QB Skyler Bonneau got on the field some last week. The real setback was the defensive performance, which has been stellar until last week (420 yards given up). West Texas has had their challenges all season, but they continue to try and improve each week. I truly believe that the offense has some good key players but has some offensive line issues that has hampered their running game; tact on the QB issues and that results into a bad formula.
Adams State comes into this game after a thumping by CSU-Pueblo, who has only suffered one loss on the season to West Texas A&M. Interesting enough, Adams State is playing the one team that beat CSUP. The Grizzlies offense has been proficient at times but the defense has struggled extensively at times and that was shown last week. You can expect a heavy dose of pass from the Grizzlies. The Buffs Secondary will be tested to the limit this week and the defense has to make strides for improving compared to the game last week.

Game Analysis: Another quality game of Rams v. Mustangs. I like this matchup with the Rams being improved. The Mustangs come in with momentum and the Rams come in off a bye week. Who will be ready?

Texas A&M Kingsville v. UT-Permian Basin: Saturday, October 14th 6 PM

The Javelinas came out firing on all cylinders last week against West Texas. I have seriously misjudged this Kingsville team. I think that this game will help give us more clarification on this Javelina team. The Kingsville defense has been stellar at times and struggled at others. The Javelinas rank #3 in the country for team sacks with 25. The pass defense has been the area where the team has struggled.
The Javelina really came alive last week with QB Cade Dyal (23 of 29, 249 pass yards, 3 TDs) showing why he needs to be the starting Quarterback. Additionally, the rushing offense racked up 167 yards on the Buffaloes. The Javelinas may be out of contention for the NCAA Playoffs but they still have life inside them. I expect that they have more to offer us. What will they be able to show us this week?
The UTPB Falcons are on the rise. I cannot help but flock to watching this team; simply, because I want to see what they will do next. The Falcons had a difficult time running the ball last week against the top 5 ranked rushing defense. UTPB missed the tying FG in the final seconds to lose the game against ENMU. The passing game of UTPB has gotten better and improved each week. QB Kameron Mathis appears to be their guy and a great passing quarterback. He has performed great over these past several weeks, while the defense has played very well with all things considered.
The defense did have a difficult time against a top 5 national ranked rushing attack in ENMU last week but did not let them score a lot of points in the red zone. LB Chris Hoad has to be one of the best defensive players in the LSC and Division 2 Football; ranking 3rd in total tackles on the national scale. I cannot say enough good things about his play this season.
Game Analysis: I want to see what the Javelinas can do with some momentum in their corner. The team from Kingsville better not underestimate this UTPB team or they may find themselves in deep water. I think Kingsville has resolved some of their offensive struggles and should be able to win this game.
