The second edition of the regional rankings are out. There was very little movement due to on field play last weekend. The movement was due to off field incidents and helped the teams that were below California in the rankings. This week will provide little clarity as the top teams will not play each other until November 15th.

Here is a look at the current top 10 teams:

1. Bloomsburg (9-0, 9-0 D2) - The Huskies solidified their top ranking in the region with a 34-13 victory over East Stroudsburg. That clinches the PSAC East title for Bloomsburg for ninth time in the past 15 years. They will play at Lock Haven in the final weekend of the regular season before playing in the PSAC title game on November 15th.

2. Concord (9-0, 9-0 D2) - The Mountain Lions are the other lone undefeated team in the region after a 30-13 victory over UVA-Wise last Saturday. Concord hosts a tough Notre Dame of Ohio team this week before ending the season with a trip to Shepherd. That game will serve as the defacto MEC Championship game.

3. West Chester (8-1, 8-1 D2) - The Rams rebounded nicely this weekend with a victory over Cheyney by the score of 58-0. West Chester travels to East Stroudsburg this weekend before finishing the season at IUP. They have the toughest schedule of the top six teams but still control their own fate in the playoff picture.

4. Winston Salem (7-1, 7-1 D2) - The Rams took care of business last weekend with a 61-10 rout of Shaw. They will travel to Fayetteville State this weekend with the CIAA Southern Division on the line and a trip to the CIAA Championship game. WSSU still control their own fate but will need to win both games to make the playoffs.

5. California (7-1, 7-1 D2) - The Vulcans forfeited their game with Gannon last weekend after five players were arrested for an incident outside of a restaurant. The forfeit doesn't affect their record in the eyes of the NCAA as they still only have one D2 loss. California is now in a three way tie in the PSAC West and host Mercyhurst this weekend. A win puts them in the PSAC Championship game against Bloomsburg.

6. American International (7-2, 7-1 D2) - The Yellow Jackets escaped Merrimack with a 24-21 victory last Saturday. AIC will host Pace this weekend with a shot at the NE-10 Championship game on the line. A win and they would host the game for the second straight year. They will need to win two more games to make the playoffs.

7. Shepherd (7-1, 7-1 D2) - The Rams got back into the playoff hunt with a 37-14 victory over Glenville State. They will travel to West Virginia State this weekend before the huge game at home with Concord on November 15th. They need to win out to have a shot at making the top six.

8. Virginia State (6-2, 6-2 D2) - The Trojans took care of business on Saturday with a 40-7 victory over Chowan. They will now play at Virginia Union with the CIAA Northern Division at stake and a trip to the championship game. They need to win the final two games to make the playoffs.

9. Slippery Rock (6-2, 6-2 D2) - The Rock took care of business with a 29-7 victory over Edinboro on Saturday. They are still in the running for the PSAC West title because of the California forfeit. They can gain a share of the title with a win at Clarion and could play in the PSAC championship game with a win and a California loss.

10. Charleston (6-3, 6-3 D2)- The Golden Eagles knocked off the previous # 10 team in the region last Thursday night West Liberty 42-13. They will travel to Fairmont State this weekend and close with Urbana in the final weekend. Charleston needs a lot of help to make it to the top six of the region.

For the second week in a row, it looks very similar with the PSAC getting 2-3 teams in the playoffs and the MEC getting 1-2 teams depending on the results of the final two weeks. The NE-10 only has AIC as a hope of getting into the playoffs if they win their final two games of the season. The CIAA looks to get one team into the playoffs as well as long as Winston Salem and Virginia State meet in the championship game.

As always, teams need to win games on the field and not let the committee decide their fate.
