It is that time of the year again, football season. The teams have been on campus for a couple of weeks now and are preparing for the 2017 season.
It all kicks off on August 31st when Bentley travels to West Chester and St. Anselm plays at Wagner.

Here is my pick for #6 in the league in 2017:

Bentley University Falcons (5-6, 5-4 NE-10)

Coach: Bill Kavanaugh, 4th year (15-18)

Opening Game: August 31st @ West Chester

2017 Schedule

2016 Stats

2017 Roster

Game to Watch: October 14th vs. American International College

These games are closely fought and always a battle. Nothing better than a 5-3 game last year that saw the Falcons squeak out a hard-fought victory. Both teams usually need the victory to keep pace in the league and the matchup is always decided late.

Player to Watch: Joey Piatnik, LB

The senior linebacker will be part of a talented group of linebackers for the Falcons. After a solid 2016 season that saw him accumulate 38 tackles and five sacks, he will be called upon to anchor a defense that is always strong. He will spend a lot of time in the opposing backfield and require a lot of attention in the opponent's blocking scheme.

Unit to Watch: Offense

Bentley struggled to find an offensive rhythm last year and will need to rely on senior leadership to help kick start the offense. Mack Lowrie will be the one under center and need to play mistake free week in and week out. Martin Bannerman, Jeff Kiel and Drew Mahoney will be the focal point of the offense and look to help the offense move the chains.

Outlook:

Fourth year head coach Bill Kavanaugh is looking for his team to break out of the 5-6 season cycle. He has seen it the past three years and needs to get the team on the positive side of the scoreboard more often than not. If his offense can play well, it could be a good season in Waltham.
