Recent Meetings: First Meeting

The Greyhounds of Eastern New Mexico University will travel approximately 1,150 nautical miles for what must be the longest regular season road trip of the season in Division II football. They travel to the Hilltop to take on a West Liberty team that just snapped a 5-game losing streak with a 44-14 win over Concord at home. Jeremiah Ortiz had his fifth game of the season rushing for 100+ yards. Ortiz is second in the MEC and 8th in Super Region 1 in Rushing Yards (867) and Rushing Yards Per Game (96.3). The Hilltoppers passing game though has evolved into a three-way quarterback carousel.

The Greyhounds bring the nation's second-best rushing offense averaging 330 rushing yards per game. Their success running the ball is the key behind leading the nation in Time of Possession (37:00) per game. There is no secret to what Eastern New Mexico plans to do. They have rushed 530 times throughout the season while making just 83 pass attempts. In an average game, 65 of 75 plays will be running plays. The problem is despite knowing what's coming, the Greyhounds continue to find success with the running game. They are 7-1 and 10th in SR4 Regional Rankings.

The Hilltoppers are 2-1 on Thursday nights this year, but the Greyhounds will out-run West Liberty on their way to victory.
