Week 8 in the PSAC

As we enter into the second half of October we only have 3 weekends of divisional play remaining in the PSAC. The races for both the East and the West are still up for grabs. In the Eastern division Kutztown and West Chester are both 3-0 in the division with all eyes set on next weekend when the two powers will face off. In the Western division the road got muddied last week as the Golden Knights of Gannon traveled to California and upset the Vulcans on homecoming. Slippery Rock the lone undefeated in the west sits at 4-0 with a short trip to rival Clarion on the docket this coming Saturday. The story in both divisional races is this; for WCU, Kutztown or SRU win two games, including the one against your chief competition, and you win your division and play in the PSAC Championship Game.

This weekend we see some great matchups: three from the confines of Erie County as Gannon, Mercyhurst and Edinboro will all play home games kicking off at noon. In the East we find one matchup that can really shake up the standings. That is when the Golden Bears of nationally ranked and undefeated Kutztown travel to Shippensburg. The other game of note in the east will be a matchup between WCU and East Stroudsburg. The Golden Rams must avoid a let down before a huge matchup with Kutztown next weekend.
