Week 10 in the PSAC

As we enter week 10 in the PSAC we already know who will be playing for the PSAC Championship next week as West Chester will travel west and visit Slippery Rock on November 10th. This weekend we see our last weekend of crossover matchups, and many finish positions are still up for grabs as we enter this Saturday.

The end of an era; Last Saturday East Stroudsburg head coach Denny Douds announced his retirement. The PSAC coaching has led the Warriors for over 40 seasons and steps down as the active wins leader in all of NCAA football. Coach Douds teams may have struggled the last few seasons but he always ran his program with respect and honor. We will probably never see someone coach as long and sustain his success again in the PSAC. We tip our cap to coach Douds on a job well done.

Also as we head into November we have to keep our focus on the Regional rankings, for the second week in a row we see 3 PSAC teams in the rankings. West Chester sits at #3, Kutztown is #6 and Slippery Rock is at #8. I believe that if any of these teams win out they will make the playoff. In order for the PSAC to get three teams into the playoff, the Rock needs to win the PSAC, and West Chester must take care of business this weekend. With many matchups remaining with top teams across the region and with the strength of schedule bump, IUP will gain the last two weeks if the Crimson Hawks take care of business they have a chance to climb into the conversation as we close out the season.
