Hats off to coach TJ Hardemann and his staff. The Cougars 2-3 zone kept UCSD completely stymied most of the night. The Tritons shot 6-30 from inside the arc on the night and seemed to be second-guessing themselves on a lot of their shots in the second half. Daylee Hanson had 23 points and 11 rebounds, and Azusa put their height advantage to good use, blocking 11 shots (sophomore Laura Pranger had 6 of them). UCSD did not score a point inside the 3-point line for the first 23 minutes of the game.
The Cougars will play Alaska-Anchorage in the regional final on Monday night. It'll be nice to show up for one of these and not be working for a change.
