If the SIAC would take VSU, VSU should jump on it, but what's the incentive for the SIAC?

Valdosta State would be better off moving to the NAIA and joining the Sun Conference than joining the SIAC.

The SIAC is NCAA D2 and the state schools are properly funded and will become even more competitive, but to your point there are a lot of weak schools so year in tear out you're not assured of a strong schedule, that is unless they put the GSC schools in a division with the better SIAC schools. Love your SAC affiliate idea though, the footprint is not ideal but that's really a win win.
