The only one I can think of last year was Conor Dillon who was an absolute star at Winona, transferred to his hometown Bradley, and saw very little action....

Hardly. A distinct minority I would think. Most have been lateral, move downs to D3, or JC....

At the Big 10 level I think walk ons are pretty much viewed as practice players. The gophers always seem to have one or two and they never find the court....
