MESSAGE NUMBER 2: In my hometown, I'm the officiating officer for our annual Veteran's Hall of Fame induction ceremonies and I introduce Navy Captains, Admirals, etc. And another one of my heros is the man who organized this event 10 years ago after serving 20 years in the Navy. I also hired him as a reporter when I was the managing editor of our local daily newspaper, and I did so over youngsters with masters degrees in journalism. He turned out to be the best reporter I've ever had. So, my calling you sailor boy had nothing to do with disrespect. In fact, it had everything to do with respecting you more than you can know.
