Another week has gone by, so it's another edition of Aaron's High 5. This is a very unofficial power ranking for teams in the MIAA. I try to base it solely on what's been done this year, without letting any preseason expectations or reputations from years past get in the way.

At the top this week, there's not too much to debate, but it's that bottom half that's got me thinking. Well, let's get into it.

1. Northwest Missouri (2-0) - Whoa. Can you say dominant? Forget growing pains for quarterback Blake Christopher or head coach Adam Dorrel. Any team that scores 118 points in 2 games is the real deal and belongs on top of any power rankings, regardless of who they've played. They got my vote for #2 in the country (though D2football.com still has them at #3), and I'm honestly surprised they didn't get more first-place votes in this week's AFCA Coaches' Poll.

2. Pittsburg State (2-0) - Now remember, this is only based on what's been done this year. I'm not completely sold on Pitt State yet as far as what they'll do the rest of the year, but through two weeks, this team has looked awesome. Zac Dickey is running the ball down defenses' throats and the defense has played outstanding. I don't know how long this will last, but for right now, I"m happy with Pitt at No. 2.

3. Washburn (2-0) - You could make an argument to have them at No. 2, but I'm not putting too much weight into their thrashing of Lincoln. That team is going to get beat by that many in just about every conference game this year. I do like what Simoneau has done so far and the carries their backs shared against the Blue Tigers will come in handy in the long run.

4. Fort Hays State (1-1) - Here's where it gets real dicey. I tried to think of what team hasn't embarassed themselves yet? You could argue that losing to Truman is embarassing, and I wouldn't have too much of a refute, but the fact is this team has played decent in both weeks. They certainly could have won last week against the Bulldogs and a week earlier, they converted on key turnovers to pull out a win over Emporia.

5. Missouri Western (1-1) - I get it. Missouri Western's a better team than Fort Hays, and I'm sure they'll prove that in the final week of the season when they face off in St. Joseph, but the Griffons (very impressive in their Week 2 win over UCM) were flat out awful in the first week, and remember - I'm looking at the overall picture here.
