Down in GSC territory there's this character that likes to talk a lot. As much as he talks, I don't know if anyone's listening. Well, I'll admit. I've been listening.

What does this self-proclaimed know-it-all have to say? Well, in his eyes, the Gulf South Conference is far-and-away the best conference in Division II football. He dismisses teams like North Greenville when they go up against teams like Delta State this deep in the playoffs. And I'm pretty sure he thoroughly enjoys Kim Kardashian and mud-wrestling.

Don't get me wrong here people. I respect the GSC Five, as this scribe likes to call them. All five teams (Delta, UNA, UWA, West Georgia, Valdosta) were ranked at one time or another in the Regional Rankings and four out of five spent some time in the Top 25 this year.

I hear ya, believe me. From top to bottom (which isn't very far with only five teams), it's a solid conference. Delta State and North Alabama both spent plenty of time at No. 1 this year.

But come on folks. If you really believe the GSC is the strongest conference in the land, you need to clear the Okra out of your eyeballs and wake up.

This is the MI-double-A here, and we don't mess around. All we do is eat conferences like you for breakfast. Alright, fine, the bottom couple teams don't exactly strike any fear into anyone's hearts, but even they have seen recent successes in non-conference play. And I'll gladly take our sixth-best team, Emporia State, over just about any sixth-place finisher in all of Division II. Who would that be for you GSC? Oh yeah, you're only half a conference, so you don't even get a pony in that show.

Please know, I"m only having a bit of fun here, and I told Dustin earlier this week I was going to take some shots at him. If you don't read his Gulf South Conference coverage here on D2Football.com, you're missing out. He's simply the most entertaining writer we have. But he's clearly not seeing straight when he lauds his conference as the almighty of D2 Football.

I'm proud of Pittsburg State and I'm proud of the MIAA. It's truly an honor to get to cover the BEST conference in the land and have the ability to debate great arguments like this one.

Who do YOU think is the best conference in Division II? It's been talked about ad nauseum for years, and you could make an argument for a new one about every year, but this season and every one before and after it, I"ll stick with my MIAA.
