The MIAA has 5 teams ranked in the Top 20, so it's no big surprise it leads the way with all 5 teams in the first installment of the Regional Rankings.

RELATED | The MIAA playoffs begin NOW

But if the playoffs started today, the MIAA would get just two of those teams into the playoffs. The PSAC and NSIC each would get three teams into the playoffs. The GNAC, with no team good enough to crack the Top 10 in Super Region 3, would be the only one of 16 D2 conferences (if you include Independents as a conference) without any representatives in the field. Stonehille, No. 7 in Super Region 1, would sneak in via earned access as the Northeast-10's only team ranked in the Top 8.

Here's a look at each D2 conference, listed in order of Regionally-Ranked teams, with the second number signifying the playoff teams for the conference (also bolded).

Super Region 1
PSAC – 4, 3; No. 1 West Chester, No. 3 Bloomsburg, No. 5 Slippery Rock, No. 8 Cal
MEC – 3, 1; No. 2 Shepherd, No. 9 Urbana, No. 10 Concord
CIAA – 1, 1; No. 4 Winston Salem, No. 6 Virginia State
NE-10 – 1, 1; No. 7 Stonehill

Super Region 2
GSC – 4, 2; No. 4 West Alabama, No. 6 North Alabama, No. 8 Delta State, No. 9 Valdosta State
SAC – 4, 2 No. 1 Lenoir-Rhyne, No. 2 Newberry, No. 7 Carson-Newman, No. 10 Wingate
SIAC – 1, 1; No. 5 Tuskegee
IND – 1, 1; No. 3 UNC-Pembroke

Super Region 3 | SR3: What they've done & who's next

MIAA – 5, 2; No. 1 Northwest Missouri, No. 6 Pittsburg State, No. 7 Missouri Western, No. 8 Washburn, No. 9 Emporia State
NSIC – 3, 3; No. 2 Minnesota State-Mankato, No. 3 Minnesota-Duluth, No. 4 St. Cloud
GAC – 2, 1; No. 5 Henderson State, No. 10 Harding
GNAC - 0

Super Region 4

LSC – 4, 2; No. 4 Midwestern State, No. 5 West Texas A&M, No. 9 Texas A&M Commerce, No. 10 Tarleton State
GLIAC – 3, 2; No. 2 Ohio Dominican, No. 3 SVSU, No. 8 Grand Valley
RMAC – 2, 1; No. 1 Chadron State, No. 7 Chadron State
GLVC – 1, 1; No. 6 Indianapolis

I'll take the 5 MIAA teams in the RRs as one of many reasons to say it is the best conference in all of D2, but I get a kick out of listening to arguments to the contrary and would love to hear why you think this list does or doesn't show an accurate depiction of the power balance in Division II.
