No. 5 Pittsburg State and No. 7 Northwest Missouri both won their season finales easily Saturday, and with each other top seed in Super Region 3 winning as well, the stage has been set for a rematch next week between the Gorillas and the Bearcats.

Pittsburg and Northwest, both 10-1 and MIAA co-champions, will likely retain the 4 and 5-seeds in the region. The winner of next week's game will then travel to SR3 top-seed Minnesota State Mankato.

The Gorillas upended Central Oklahoma (8-3) 41-14, and with Central Missouri's loss to Fort Hays (the Mules and Tigers both finish 7-4), the Bronchos will get the invite to the Mineral Water Bowl against an NSIC team.

Northwest handled Washburn 31-14, snapping the Ichabods' mini 2-game win streak.

Elsewhere in Super Region 3, current 2-seed Ouachita Baptist took the shortest road trip in college football (literally across the street) and beat 9th-seeded Henderson State 41-20. Ouachita (GAC) finishes the season 10-0 and will likely retain the 2nd seed and a first-round bye.

No. 3 Minnesota-Duluth topped Minot State a lot to a little, finishing an 11-0 season against a crop of nobodies. Unless the NCAA selection committee bumps them down for their week SOS, they'll stick to the 3-seed and host the 6th-seeded team.

Harding, No. 6 in the region coming into the week, beat Arkansas Tech. Seventh-seeded Sioux Falls knocked off Wayne State (Neb). It looks like Harding "should" hold the final spot (Top 6 make the playoffs), but who knows. This thing is unpredictable at times.

So here's what it appears the playoff field will look like:

1. Minnesota State Mankato (11-0) will host Pitt-NW winner
2. Ouachita Baptist (10-0) will host Duluth-Harding winner
3. Minnesota Duluth (11-0) will host Harding next week
4. Pittsburg State (10-1) will host NW Missouri next week
5. Northwest Missouri (10-1) will be at Pittsburg next week
6. Harding (9-1) will be at Minnesota Duluth next week

That leaves Sioux Falls (10-1) as the NSIC opponent for Central Oklahoma in the Mineral Water Bowl. If Sioux jumps Harding into the playoffs, Northern State (8-3) would come to Excelsior Springs on Dec. 7 instead.
