The Northern Sun today announced their player of the week award winners.

Southwest Minnesota State quarterback Tyler Peschong was named the NSIC Offensive Player of the week. Peschong finished 29 of 34 for 334 yards and three touchdowns in the Mustangs 48-45 win over the University of Mary. He also rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns.

Peschong also orchestrated the game winning drive for the Mustangs. and threw a decisive block on Warren Matthews 34 yard touchdown run.

A couple of St. Cloud State players picked up the other NSIC Awards.

SCSU safety Tony Kubes picked up the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week Award. Kubes intercepted two passes leading a Huskies defense that intercepted five passes against Concordia on Saturday. He finished the game with nine tackles, two and a half tackles for loss, and the two interceptions.

Both of Kubes interceptions led to St. Cloud State touchdowns helping the Huskies to their 41-13 win.

Also St. Cloud State Kicker Tyler Alderidge made two field goals in the game on Saturday. Aldridge made kicks of 35 and a career long of 46 yards in the Husky victory. He also added five extra points in the victory.

St. Cloud State is 2-0.
