Now that was some playoff football!
Exciting games in Tuskegee and Florence today with contests that came down to the end of the fourth quarter before the eventual victor could be assumed. One team got their first ever D2 playoff win, while a D2 perennial powerhouse moved on in the other November D2 post-season gridiron match-up.
West Georgia 20
Tuskegee 17
West Georgia seemed to have the game in control well into the third quarter and then the Golden Tigers put up a good fight in the final quarter or so to make it a game. The standout players for the Wolves were RB Seth Hinsley who had 113 yards and one touchdown and QB Dallas Dickey who threw for two more touchdowns. The Wolves defense held TU to 270 yards for the game. The flags were certainly flying in this game with TU being flagged 13 times for 176 yards and UWG being flagged 13 times for 200 yards.

VSU QB Jake Medlock wasn't 100% healthy but he was the difference-maker in the game with 234 yards passing and one touchdown, along with 116 yards rushing and two touchdowns. The UNA defense had no answer for the Blazers ground attack and allowed 395 yards rushing in the game. UNA QB Luke Wingo's school-record 511 yards passing wasn't enough to outlast the Blazers this time around. VSU kicker Anthony Pistelli was also a key player in the contest connecting for four Blazer field goals (three in the 4th quarter) and three PAT's.

VICTORY BOWL: North Greenville 42, Shorter 16. The Hawks led at the half but then fumbled the opening kickoff of the second half in the end zone and NGU recovered for a touchdown. It was downhill from there and ended in a blowout by the Crusaders.
