Anything You Can Do

I can do better. When the Tigers of West Alabama travel over to the Mississippi Delta to face off with the Statesmen of Delta State, both will be trying to out-do each other and snag the victory. It will be a battle of two squads that are undefeated in the conference and division. Yet, only one will march forward as the favorite to win the GSC Championship and potentially have home field advantage during the playoffs. Both teams are in the D2 Top 25 Poll where they belong. Delta State has been rolling up some big numbers on the ground and have been holding their opponents to an average of less than 62 yards per game in rushing but have allowed almost 250 yards of passing yardage per game. West Alabama has been racking up some gaudy numbers on offense and lead the conference in several categories including averaging just over 45 points per contest but the Tigers had a slew of penalties last week. To me, the Tigers are playing like a national title contender while the Statesmen appear to be a team that could make an impressive run into the playoffs. We will see if that opinion remains or reverses after this game.
