Got to chat with Northwestern Oklahoma Head Football Coach Alan Hall about NWOSU Football and the upcoming season. Below is a transcript of our conversation. [Editorial note: Parts of this interview were edited to preserve the flow of the conversation.]
Armo: Coach Hall, thanks for taking time out of your schedule to speak with me today about Northwestern Oklahoma football.
Coach Hall:
Armo: Last year you beat expectations in the conference, almost defeating Arkansas-Monticello and getting the big upset winover Southeastern Oklahoma. Talk a little bit about how you keep the positive momentum rolling as you finish your transition to Division II full-member status.
Coach Hall:
Armo: Looking at the defensive side of the ball. This offseason you hired Dan Lemke as Defensive Coordinator. What set Coach Lemke apart from other candidates for the Defensive Coordinator position?
Coach Hall:
Armo: Staying with the defense for a moment. You return Linebackers Alex Hemberger and Derrick Thompson. What does that mean for your defense going into the 2014 season?
Coach Hall:
Armo: Moving over to the offensive side of the ball. You have a lot of players returning offensively, particularly starters. What does having so many of those offensive starters returning mean for the Rangers offense for the upcoming season?
Coach Hall:
Armo: You open the season on September 4th at Arkansas Tech, which funny enough is actually on a Thursday.
Coach Hall:
Armo: Coach Hall, I want to thank you for taking time to discuss Northwestern Oklahoma football today with me and wish you the best of luck with the season.
