GAC Week 9 Previews
Team with the Bye Week: Northwestern Oklahoma (1-7)
Southern Arkansas (4-3) at Ouachita Baptist (7-0) st at 1pm CT
Recent history would suggest a tough game between SAU and OBU. There is no reason to believe it will be different this year. SAU is coming off of a bye week, while OBU is coming off of a tough game against ATU. This game has the makings for a potential shootout.
SAU comes into the game averaging 507.1 yards of total offense, first in the GAC and tenth in the nation. OBU is one of the best at running the ball averaging 230.3 yards rushing, second in the GAC and 24th in the nation. SAU averages 36.0 points per game, while OBU averages 34.9 points per game. Both teams have had their share of struggles in stopping opposing offenses.
SAU has cut down on the turnovers recently, but they are still on the negative side of the turnover margin column at -1. OBU has been great all season long on turning teams over (+11), but they seem to play to their competition. The difference in this game may come down to a combination of turnovers and who does a better job of executing when handed those opportunities.
Given that OBU is at home and SAU has struggled this year on the road, OBU has the edge in this one.

#1Redready commented10-29-2014, 10:12 PMEditing a commentThanks for the work again. I like reading it and look forward to it. Going to get real interesting this week going forward. SAU no easy game for OBU. SEOSU no easy game either for HU. UAM pass defense better. OBU RB and QB is the team. Not cutting anyone else but honestly if OBU had an injury of either RB or QB is spells disaster. Of course I pray each week no serious injury for either team on both sides all D2.
