#14 Bloomsburg 44 #23 Kutztown 37
The first half of this game was exactly what we expected. Both offenses moved the ball well with their respective styles of play, but both defenses made some stops as well. Bloomsburg held a 23-21 lead at halftime, and the game was set up for a thrilling second half battle. But things got very sloppy after the break. The second half was littered with turnovers, penalties and countless injury timeouts.

Kevin Morton's replacement Josh Luckenbaugh played admirably and kept the Bears in the fight all the way to the end. He had a couple of costly mistakes, but more importantly for the Bears, he made quite a few plays. If Morton is out for an extended period of time, their offense will be in capable hands. There is no way to replace the experience, poise and leadership that Morton brings to the team, but Luckenbaugh proved that the Bears will still be able to move the ball and finish drives.

On the opposite sideline, Bloomsburg was happy to get the win, but they have to be displeased that they were unable to put this game away in the third quarter. The Huskies helped the Golden Bears by losing four fumbles in the second half, mostly due to sloppy ball handling. The Huskies also dropped some passes that would have helped a few drives, so there are some fundamentals for the offense to work on. However, there were numerous positives on the day as well. Tim Kelly played very well at quarterback, passing for 246 yards, and the running game continues to execute. The Huskies surpassed 300 yards on the ground for the third straight week.

Mercyhurst 22 Clarion 14LIU Post 45 Cheyney 10#22 Indiana 42 Lock Haven 0
Poor Lock Haven remains scoreless through 12 quarters this season and they're averaging just 171 yards of total offense per game. IUP was totally unchallenged and hardly broke a sweat in out-rushing the Bald Eagles 343 to 31.

West Chester 56 Millersville 14Slippery Rock 38 Gannon 18
Quarterback Liam Nadler continues to put up good numbers for Gannon, but turnovers have been the downfall for the Golden Knights. Slippery Rock had a fairly modest day offensively, but their efforts were assisted by defensive and special teams touchdowns. The Rock broke a three year losing streak to Gannon with the 20 point victory at home.

#6 California 24 Edinboro 14Shippensburg 63 East Stroudsburg 21
East Stroudsburg isn't exactly known as a great defensive team, but what Shippensburg did to them was downright abusive. The Warriors actually held a 14-7 lead early in the second quarter but once the Raiders hit their stride, there was no looking back. Ship obliterated ESU with 719 yards of total offense (sixth most in PSAC history). Zack Zulli set a new school record with 496 passing yards before being relieved at the end of the third quarter. I'm still searching for anything positive to report for the Warriors.

Coming up later this week, we'll preview the Coal Bowl between undefeated California and undefeated Indiana. We'll also explore Kutztown's outlook for the remainder of the year, following two straight losses and the absence of several key players.
