1. Shepherd
Conference: MEC
Record: 10-0 (Conference Champion)
Coach: Monte Cater
Football Home Page: http://www.shepherdrams.com/page.cfm?sport=330
Comments: The Rams secured the number 1 seed by finishing with an undefeated record, at 10-0. They won the conference championship in the inaugural season of the Mountain East Conference. Shepherd has the best offense and best defense in the MEC and their run defense is the best in all divisions of college football (45 ypg). Ram Stadium is one of the toughest places to play in SR1, so the rest of the bracket will have their work cut out for them when they visit Shepherdstown.
2. Bloomsburg
Conference: PSAC
Record: 10-1 (Conference Champion)

Conference: PSAC
Record: 10-1 (second place, PSAC East)
Coach: Bill Zwaan
Football Home Page: http://www.wcupagoldenrams.com/index...&path=football
Comments: The Rams dropped the most critical match up of the year, but they did secure a place in the post season by winning 10 games, their most since 2004. The Rams won the region that season and played Valdosta State in national semi finals. The Rams have one of the most productive and most balanced offenses in the PSAC. Rondell White is one of the top all-purpose offensive players in Division II and is a danger running the ball and receiving out of the backfield. Sean McCartney has the highest QB efficiency rating in the PSAC. The defense is a very solid unit, especially against the run.
4. Winston-Salem State
Conference: CIAA
Record: 9-1 (8-1 against D2)
Coach: Connell Maynor

Conference: PSAC
Record: 9-2 (PSAC West Champion, PSAC Runner-up)
Coach: George Mihalik
Football Home Page: http://www.rockathletics.com/index.aspx?path=football
Comments: The Rock lost a tough one in a fantastic battle with Bloomsburg for the PSAC Championship. The loss means they will have to go on the road, but they still have a very good shot at winning the region. Nigel Barksdale is fifth in Division II in total passing yards and receiver John Schademan leads the PSAC with 19.3 yards per catch, which is pretty incredible considering he has 73 receptions (second in the PSAC). The defense has been strong all year and have shown that with the right game plan, they can slow down good running teams and defend up-tempo passing teams. If they can rebound from the championship game loss, they have the talent for a deep run in the playoffs.
6. American International
Conference: Northeast 10
Record: 9-2 (Conference Champion)
Coach: Art Wilkins
