Defeated and Undefeated

We entered week four with four unbeaten teams and five winless teams. Nothing has changed. Slippery Rock, Gannon, West Chester and Bloomsburg all advanced to 4-0 while Edinboro, Mercyhurst, Lock Haven, Millersville and Cheyney are still trying to break through with a win. One of the unbeaten teams will fall this week as Gannon travels to Slippery Rock, but the status quo could continue for the winless teams. Mercyhurst has the best match up for a possible win in their date with Clarion. The other four are very likely to remain winless.

The Crimson Hawks had a sluggish outing last week at Lock Haven, but they may have turned the corner on their season with a thoroughly dominant win at home over Mercyhurst. Offense and defense contributed to a blitzkrieg that quickly overwhelmed Mercyhurst. The Crimson Hawks built a 27-0 lead before the end of the first quarter and cruised from there. The Lakers were never in the ball game and never found any traction with the offense. The running game was limited to 29 yards on 26 carries.
